Responsibilities

Management Responsibilities

  • Senior management is responsible for implementing and overseeing this policy.
  • Managers will allocate resources, training, and equipment to support health and safety objectives.
  • Supervisors must ensure compliance, conduct regular inspections, and address identified hazards.
  • Management will monitor and review performance to ensure continuous improvement.

Employee Responsibilities

  • Employees must take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others.
  • Employees must follow all safety procedures, use PPE, report hazards, and attend safety training.
  • All work-related injuries, illnesses, or near-miss incidents must be reported promptly.

Contractors and Visitors

  • Contractors and visitors are expected to comply with BritsafeTM Qualifications UK Limited safety procedures and site-specific requirements.
  • Contractors must provide evidence of relevant health and safety certifications and training before commencing work.

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment

  • Regular risk assessments will be conducted to evaluate potential hazards.
  • Appropriate risk control measures will be implemented using the hierarchy of controls: elimination, substitution, engineering, administrative, and PPE.
  • Employees will be involved in risk assessments and informed about the risks and control measures.

Emergency Preparedness and Response

  • Clearly marked emergency exits.
  • Fire safety procedures and drills.
  • First aid stations with trained personnel.
  • Evacuation procedures, emergency communication, and reporting.
  • Regular review of the emergency plan to ensure effectiveness.

Safety Training and Communication

  • Comprehensive safety training for all employees, including induction and role-specific training.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
